The Bible Institute equips national pastors with biblical training and practical tools to faithfully lead their churches and strengthen the Gospel witness across East Africa.

No Distance Too Far When Seeking Biblical Knowledge

Biblical training is a great need in East Africa, as a hunger for the Gospel continues to grow throughout the land.  As one preacher there said, “…we will be unlearning the things we thought were right, but they were wrong.”

Our first training was held in 2024 with 62 in attendance from three countries: Uganda, DR of Congo, and South Sudan. In 2025, that number grew to 85 preachers and Bible workers.  As the word spreads, more and more desire to come and take part in becoming an approved workman that rightly handles the Word of truth.

Many pastors walk for days for valuable education.  In addition to the actual training, we cover the cost of materials, lodging, and nurishment (three meals per day) for all attendees. We do not want lack of resources to be a reason these pastors cannot be trained correctly as they lead their congregations and as others start new churches.

Biblical Training From Qualified Global Impact Instructors

Missionaries Rick Groover and Mike Perry travel with at least one other U.S. Pastor to teach the week-long training sessions, along with Ugandan Pastor Stanley Onyutha.  The instruction is intense as a semester’s worth of material is presented in five days.  The days are long, but the men have never complained.  The students stayed ultra-focused as the instructors passionately rightly divide the Word of truth.

“Teamwork makes the dream work” is a common saying among the leadership in Uganda, and our teachers certainly have proven this to be the case.  The men work well together and the trainings run smoothly, despite the immense amount of material to cover.

Here Am I, Lord. Send me.

Abraham first set the example of being a willing vessel for the Lord’s calling.  “Here am I, Lord.  Send me.”  We have seen that example multiplied through the missionaries, pastors, and Bible workers who attend these trainings.  An attitude of willingness leads to acts of worship, and a relentless pursuit of the truth leads to a relationship filled with service to the Lord.

He alone is worthy of our all... our very best. He gave His all to die for us. The least we can do is give our all to live for Him.  Through the Bible Institute, a love for learning the Word and a passionate heart for serving combine to make these men hungry to correctly spread the Gospel throughout East Africa.
